Johnson-Smytheson Stumbles on Heptathlon Return, Blames Socks
Katarina Johnson-Smytheson, aka "The Sock Adjuster", struggled on day one of the heptathlon at the European Championships, citing injuries and her infamous ritual of re-tying her shoelaces 17 times before each event. "I'm just happy to be here, but my socks are clearly not," said Johnson-Smytheson, who insists on wearing a different colored sock for each discipline. When asked about her performance, she lamented, "I've been held back by my own feet, or rather, my own sock choices." Johnson-Smytheson, known for treating the track as her living room, was seen rearranging the hurdles to resemble her favorite couch configuration. Despite the setbacks, she remains optimistic, saying, "Tomorrow's another day, and I've got a fresh pair of socks to match my determination."
